The Guernsey Football Association is pleased to confirm plans for the 2023 matches played in Guernsey.
This year, in a first for these matches, both the Men’s Final and Women’s Muratti – sponsored by Close Finance - will take place on the same day in Guernsey on Saturday 13th May at Footes Lane.
The day will commence with the Women’s Muratti match between Guernsey and Jersey at 10:30am. This will be followed by the 105th Muratti Vase Final, which will kick off at 3.00pm with hosts Guernsey playing against either Alderney or Jersey. Guernsey’s opponent will be confirmed after the semi-final match in Alderney on Saturday 25th March.
Guernsey FA Chief Executive, Gary Roberts commented:
“This will be a special year for the Men’s and Women’s Muratti competitions, with this being the first time that we have staged both on the same day in Guernsey. We all know how much ‘Muratti Day’ means to players, supporters, and everybody else involved. By holding both matches on the same day, we are hoping to create a great atmosphere.
Everybody knows of the history attached to the Men’s competition, but we cannot ignore the growth in the Women’s game, which is now making its own history and will only continue growing from strength to strength. We hope that the Guernsey community will support both matches and help create a memorable day for football.”
Tickets for the Women’s match are priced at £5. To attend both matches, General Admission is priced at £10 and for a seat in the Garenne Stand for both matches, tickets will cost £15. A complementary programme is included with each ticket and will be provided to spectators on arrival.
More details about how to purchase tickets, and when these will be on sale, will be announced in April, along with more information about the day.
