Guernsey FA Senior Mens Representative Coaching Team Confirmed

The Guernsey FA is pleased to announce the management and coaching team, which will oversee squad preparations for both the 2023 Muratti, and upcoming Island Games tournament.

Tony Vance will return to the role he held in 2022 and will again be supported by Colin Fallaize as Head Coach, and Kevin Gilligan as Assistant Manager. They will be supported by Jordan Kelly as Goalkeeper Coach and Cayden Tardif as Kit Manager. As they prepare the squad for the Close Finance Muratti Vase Final on May 13th, and then the Island Games tournament, which is being held in Guernsey from 8th – 14th July.

Tony Vance, Manager commented on the appointments:

‘I would like to thank the Guernsey FA Board for their patience and support during what has been a challenging but ultimately successful season for GFC. It was very important for me to focus all my energy on ensuring safety for the club before considering the summer. A home Muratti and home Island Games in the same year is a unique opportunity I might not get again. This group of players have worked so hard for me this season and I can’t wait to lead them to Muratti and Island Games success which is what their effort deserves. It is great to be working with Fal and Kevin again. Whilst there is always pressure with GFC, what we are about to embark on presents different challenges and a responsibility we do not take lightly. We have discussed our individual roles in great detail, and I am grateful to them for stepping up and taking the lead on a number of aspects’.

Gary Roberts, Guernsey FA Chief Executive added:

‘The Guernsey FA Board is naturally delighted that Tony, Colin and Kevin have all agreed to resume the roles they held last season. As a collective, their experience of playing and coaching within both Muratti and Island Games environments is unmatched within Guernsey.

It was always the Board’s ambition to ensure that Guernsey football had the best, and right, people in place to lead the squad in what is an important period – a home Muratti and the first home Island Games since 2003. Discussions have taken place throughout the year and we are pleased that they have resulted in these appointments’.
