On Sunday 13^th October, the Guernsey FA Under 16 Academy sponsored by First Central will play its first match in the South East Counties Under 16 Championship when travelling to play Kent FA Under 16 at the home ground of Chatham FC.

This match will be the first of three matches in the group stages of the competition with further matches scheduled on 3^rd and 24^th November against Essex FA and Sussex FA respectively.

Guernsey FA Under 16 Head Coach, Stewart Moyles, looked forward to the competition and the first match when commenting that:

‘This is the second season of the GFA Academy being sponsored by First Central and after a successful first season entering the South East Counties Championship has been a natural progression. After reviewing the Under 16 training and match programme from last season, we are continuing to enhance the Academy environment and ensure that it provides the bets opportunity for all players to reach their potential.’

‘We understand that the South East Counties Championship is going to provide a very competitive challenge for our young group of players but we will embrace the challenge and I am sure that these experiences will be positive for the individual and team development of this group of players.’
