Nigel Gavey Memorial Trophy 2019
On Sunday 24th March, Stewart Moyles will lead his Guernsey Under 16 group in seeking to regain the Nigel Gavey Memorial Trophy, which Jersey won in a close contest at Springfield Stadium in 2018
Guernsey last held the prestigious trophy in 2017 after claiming a hard fought 1-0 win at Footes Lane in 2017 and will be looking for a repeat result at the Track Cycling Ground this coming weekend. Overall, Jersey hold an advantage with eight wins compared to Guernsey’s four triumphs since the match was added to the inter-insular programme in 2007.
The Guernsey squad has enjoyed a good programme in preparation for the match, with many of the players having travelled as part of the Guernsey FA Academy squad, which has played against professional academy teams at Burnley, Blackpool and AFC Wimbledon during the season.
The squad selected by Moyles and assistants, Alex Le Prevost and Andy Manning for the match is as follows:
Luke Falla
Jim Hibbs
Oscar Leadbeater
Harry Tough
Harvey Lihou
Jake Elmy
Callum Cherry
Ben Acey
Alex Scott
Keene Domaille
Simon Arnold
Ben Straker
Seb Vance
Callan Loveridge
Ben Stevens
Etienne Gaudion
The match at the Track will kick-off at 1.00pm and entry is FREE.
