2019 Soccer School Programme with Spirit

As the Guernsey Football Association and Guernsey FC Soccer School continues the first year of its partnership with Spirit for the on-going delivery of the Soccer School programme, details of all school holiday sessions through until the end of the Summer have now been confirmed.

Over the course of the last four years, the GFA and GFC Soccer School have combined resources to be best positioned to enhance provision of a varied program of football activities that provides fun learning and development opportunities for players of all levels of ability and experience. To date, this has led to the introduction of some fantastic initiatives and events including the community focused Football for a Fiver scheme, the exciting Dutch Masters tournaments, Guernsey FA ‘Giveaway’ and various tournament weeks including the 2016 Euro Championships tournament and 2018 WolrdChamps tournament. The new partnership with Spirit has secured the future of the overall Soccer School delivery programme, which also includes the year round core delivery of the after-school coaching courses that have been, and remain, so popular and successful in terms of introducing young children to the sport in a positive environment with highly qualified and experienced professional coaches.

Guernsey FC Soccer School Director, Tony Vance commented that:

‘The new partnership with Spirit is great news as it ensures that the wide ranging Soccer School programme will continue to be available for the hundreds of children that attend the various sessions delivered throughout the year. We greatly appreciates the support being provided by Spirit and look forward to continuing to provide these opportunities for the local community. I am personally delighted that we will be receiving the support of Spirit and that the role of the Soccer School in supporting player development has been recognised in this way by a new partner. The Soccer School has always focused on providing young children with the opportunity to learn the game in a safe and fun environment and as a result has received great feedback from children and parents for the technical development and understanding the sessions provide.  With the new support of Spirit, I am sure the Soccer School coaches will continue to support the development of many young and enthusiastic footballers throughout the upcoming year’.

The next school holiday sessions being delivered by the Soccer School are in the Easter holidays, and specifically the weeks commencing 8th and 15th April.
