The first scheduled matches are being played on Tuesday 12th February when St Martins host Guernsey Rovers Vets at Blanche Pierre Lane and holders Vale Rec hosting Manzur Yew at the Corbet Field.
The draw for the second round and the quarter-finals was made in December by Guernsey FA Chairman, Chris Schofield, who was joined by Ian Stewart, Managing Director of Rossborough Insurance Guernsey. Reflecting on the draw, Schofield commented:
‘I am sure some of the non-Priaulx teams will fancy their chances of progressing as the draw means some top ranked sides will knock each other out. These games will be particularly competitive and is something the spectators will look forward to. The tournament itself is growing in popularity and we’re very grateful for the sponsorship of Rossborough Insurance because such support is vital to us.’
Whilst many teams from outside of the Priaulx League will be hoping to cause an upset, the stand-out fixture is arguably the all-Priaulx match between Guernsey Rovers and Sylvans, which is scheduled to take place at Port Soif on 23rd February. Another fixture that has raised interest in the competition sees St Ouen from Jersey enter the competition for the first time and travel to play Belgrave Wanderers on Saturday 16th February.
