Muratti Vase Final 2019

The Muratti Vase final will once again see Guernsey host Jersey on Saturday 18th May at Footes Lane Stadium.

As in recent years, Alderney provided a strong challenge in the semi-final with Jersey claiming a hard fought 2-0 victory and will now be looking to retain the trophy they hold after a 1-0 victory over Guernsey in the 2018 Final. Guernsey however, will be looking for a repeat of the 2017 Final on home soil, when a 2-1 score-line, with goals from Ross Allen and Dom Heaume, belied what was a comfortable performance with Guernsey comfortably dictating the nature of the game.

The Final this year is being played in Guernsey in what is the Guernsey Football Association’s 125th Anniversary year, with Chairman, Chris Schofield, commenting:

“This season has been an opportunity for the Association to reflect on the history of affiliated football in the island, with 125 years of memorable moments. The Muratti has provided its share of those moments for the GFA, and those and other important events in the history of the Association, will be reflected upon in the match programme. We are also excited that the anniversary year will conclude with what will be a very competitive match against the UK Armed Forces FA and a 125th Anniversary Dinner on Saturday 29th June. Looking ahead to this year’s Final, I very much hope that after losing by one goal to nil in Jersey last time out that Guernsey can reverse that result.”

The match, at Footes Lane Stadium, will kick-off at 2.00pm

Tickets will go on sale from Wednesday 1st May with grandstand seats available via an online booking page and general admission tickets available from the GFA Office and from ticket booths outside Footes Lane stadium on match day. Information about the online booking page will be made public via the GFA website and social media on Tuesday 30th April.
