Hepburns Insurance Muratti Semi-Final Preview

Guernsey travel to Alderney for the Muratti semi-final tomorrow, as they seek to retain the famous trophy and in his first Muratti match as a Manager, Chris Tardif has selected a strong squad, which combines players that have extensive inter-insular experience with a number of young players that could win their first Senior Muratti cap.

On selecting the final match day squad of sixteen, Tardif commented:

‘I am delighted to announce the squad for our Muratti semi-final in Alderney this Saturday. The players have shown great attitude and aptitude to training and the information we are trying to deliver and I thank them all for this. Following some late withdrawals to injuries, some of which we had been monitoring, we have chosen a squad we believe will go and win us the match. Going to a 16 man squad has presented some difficult choices and the likes of Stuart Roussel unfortunately misses out on this occasion. This has nothing to do with his ability or what he brings to the squad but we have chosen a group dynamic that we feel is required. We are looking forward to a tough, hard fought game and the special occasion that Muratti football brings. However, the only thing I, my coaching team, our players and Island care about is getting the right result for us – and rightly so!’

The squad selected for the match is:

Jason Martin

Tom De La Mare

Tom Strawbridge

Jamie Dodd

Louis Graham

River Marsh

Ben Coulter

Dave Rihoy

Matt Loaring

Sam Hall

Luke Mollet

Paris Pereira

Danny Hale

Dom Heaume

Sam Murray

The match in Alderney kicks-off at 1.00pm.
