Guernsey Football League 2018-19 Season Preview

The 2018/19 football season in Guernsey commences with the Frederik Martinez Final between current Priaulx League champions, Rovers, and FA Cup holders, Vale Rec, on Wednesday 15th August at Blanche Pierre Lane. Having won the Priaulx League for the previous two seasons, Rovers will be looking to start the season with a display that shows why they are again amongst the favourites for the League title, whilst Vale Rec will be hoping to illustrate why the club hopes to be one of the main challengers this season after claiming the FA Cup trophy in the last two seasons.

The FNB Priaulx League season gets underway just two days later when North host Sylvans, although Rovers do not begin their title defence until on the 24th August when they travel to Blanche Pierre Lane to play against 2017/18 runners-up, St Martins.

The Jeremie Cup begins during the following week when all Priaulx League teams, with the exception of Alderney, competing for a place in the quarter-finals when the Jersey clubs will join the competition. The Jeremie Cup 1st round draw is:

The first Ravenscroft Youth Development League matches commence on the 9th Sept when the Under 18 League starts, with all other youth leagues commencing on or after the weekend of 23rd September.

Guernsey’s Wheway Trophy entrants begin their challenge for Jersey’s most prestigious cup competition in September with the matches scheduled as follows:

The Rossborough Insurance FA Cup gets underway with the First Round scheduled to begin from the weekend of Friday 26th

The Guernsey Football League has scheduled a break from all football between 18th December and 3rd January, with the Stranger Cup starting after this break and running from 8th January until 9th February.
