Ravenscroft Girls Football Week Festival

On Monday 23rd April girls aged 5-11 are invited to come along and take part in a girls football festival at St Sampson’s High School 4.00pm-5.00pm.

The plan will be to create team and individual based competitions in order to win a prize (football, headband, medal, hoodie).  Each game/activity will have a winner and the festival will conclude with matches then a small presentation.

The aim is to divide the group into ages Year 1+2, Year 3+4 and Year 5+6 which will compete amongst their own age in tag games, penalty shoot-out, crossbar challenge and matches. We are looking to engage girls who do not regularly commit to football but want to try it out in a fun environment and also give those regulars different girls to play against and some fun competition.

Football Development Officer Joelle Pengelley commented that “This will be a great opportunity for girls who want to come along and try out a session of football who may have been to a lunch club or afterschool club with Joelle and want to play with other girls from different schools. Through the support of Ravenscroft the GFA are able to offer girls aged 5-11 the opportunity to take part in football for free, which the GFA is grateful.  Over the past three years the Girls Player Development Centre has been growing and is now seeing 20-30 girls choosing football as one of their favourite sports to play outside of school.”

If your daughter is interested in attending this festival and you have any questions please contact Joelle on 07781 441680 or email Joelle.Pengelley@guernseyfa.com.
