Guernsey Squad Named

Guernsey Captain Matt Warren and North Defender Darren Martin have both been named in the 19-man squad for the massive games on the 1st and 8th of May.

Island manager Tony Vance has chosen the players who he hopes will lead Guernsey to end-of-season glory. The Greens' are poised to appear in the final of a national cup for the first time. They will also be hopeful of winning the Muratti Vase for the first time in a number of years.

Island captain Matt Warren returns to the fold having been ruled out since February with a knee injury. Warren began his come-back last week when he came on as a substitute for St Martin's in the Stranger Cup Final. He also played in a friendly against Bels on Monday night.

North skipper Darren Martin will also return to the squad having been out of action since injuring his foot at the start of the year.
Tony Vance said “They’ve not had much pitch time at the moment but obviously, but I’m keeping them around the squad to help with their rehabilitation.”

Bels midfielder Scott Bradford is also welcomed back by Vance after he missed the semi-final against Dorset with a back problem. Bradford’s Bels teammate Sam Cochrane has been included despite a badly bruised leg and Glyn Dyer is expected to shake off a sprained wrist in time to play in the NLS Cup final.
