High Performance Player Pathway

The High Performance Player Pathway 'info-graphic' was produced by Spike Productions.

The High Performance Player Pathway delivered by the Guernsey FA is a development programme for Guernsey's most talented players aged between 7 and 21. With a philosophy of Braver, Stronger, Smarter embedded within all aspects of this programme, the overriding aim is to ensure that in addition to physical, mental and technical development, all players develop as individuals.

The programme provides these players with the opportunity to be coached by some of the Island’s leading coaches along with providing an appropriate fixture program which is designed to promote development above the concept of winning

The Foundation Academy which is sponsored by Aztec Group includes teams from Under 7 through to Under 11 which all train regularly. The principal aim of the Foundation Academy is to provide fun and enjoyable sessions for all with emphasis placed solely on development. This again is the key element for the Development Academy supported by Louvre Group, which also aims to provide the best players on the island the opportunity to be challenged at an appropriate level of competition in the U12, U13, U14, U15 and U16 age groups. Providing these players with an appropriate challenge should allow them to maximise their all round development as a player and as a person.

The Academy which has Under 18 and Under 21 teams who all compete against their Jersey Representative counterparts on an annual basis. In addition these age groups are also involved in other headline fixtures including the Malaya Cup, FA County Youth Cup and against Northern Ireland Schools FA.

The games programme for all age groups has been generously supported by The Ray Lowe Foundation and this allows all teams within the High Performance Player Pathway the opportunity to participate in appropriate and challenging fixtures throughout the season.

The High Performance Player Pathway relies on the commitment of the volunteer coaches and as part of the overall development programme, Guernsey FA also aims to support these coaches with their personal development through appropriate training opportunities. We recognise that the development of our coaches is essential in order to maximise the development of the players.
