Guernsey FA Supports Local Football

With the 2020/21 season beginning to work towards its conclusion, the Guernsey FA is also beginning to turn attention towards the 2021/22 season, and as part of this process has identified opportunities to once again support local football.

Guernsey FA Chief Executive, Gary Roberts, commented that:

“Through support from the FA, we have been able to identify measures to once again support the local clubs as we previously did for the current season. For the 2021/22 season, these measures are confirmed as being the following:

  • Free affiliation
  • Free entry into the Guernsey FA Cup competition
  • Free Public Liability insurance

The GFA Board and staff remain mindful that the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted the island community in many ways, and within local football there has undoubtedly been a financial impact. Therefore, we will again be supporting the local clubs through financial savings associated with the 2021/22 season, and we will also again be supporting the referee community through the offer of free registration.

Football remains an important element of social connectivity in Guernsey and it was important to the GFA that we could again support the clubs, that do such a fantastic job of providing participation opportunities  across the island, to be ready for the start of the new season. We look forward to working with the clubs, GFLM, and our various invaluable sponsors and partners to ensure the 2021/22 season will be a successful one for all involved in the game.”

Clubs can begin the 2021/22 affiliation process from Wednesday 5th May.
