RAVENSCROFT

Ravenscroft Girls PDC Success

The Guernsey FA is delighted that through the on-going support of Ravenscroft, the Girls Player Development Centre (PDC) continues to grow and flourish.

This programme provides introductory opportunities for girls aged 5-11 to enjoy football in a girls only environment and has proven to be successful with two weekly sessions now being delivered due to increased demand. Both sessions, which are held at St Sampson’s High School on Mondays and Styx Community Centre on Wednesdays, continue to welcome new participants with over 30 girls attending on the Monday sessions and 20 girls regularly attending the Wednesday session at Styx Centre.

The sessions continue to be very popular with regular attendees and some having been attending since the centre began in 2014.  The majority of participants have now been awarded their Ravenscroft PDC purple kit, which is presented as a free gift to the girls after they have completed 10 sessions at the centre.

The PDC provides fun coaching for girls aged between five and eleven and these free sessions are the first stage in the Girls Pathway, which aim to provide age appropriate sessions that are designed to complement other football participation opportunities in local Clubs. With over 50 girls participating in these sessions the Guernsey FA is proud to be inspiring so many young girls to develop a passion for football and is grateful for the support provided by Ravenscroft, which is invaluable in maintaining these opportunities.

If you have a daughter who is aged between five and eleven and would like to come along to one of the sessions please contact Joelle Pengelley for more information; Joelle.Pengelley@Guernseyfa.com
