Guernsey Soccer School Sponsored by Spirit

As the Guernsey Football Association and Guernsey FC Soccer School begins what will be the fourth year of the partnership, the Guernsey Football Association is pleased to confirm that a new sponsorship agreement has been secured with Spirit for the on-going delivery of the Soccer School programme.

Over the course of the last four years, the GFA and GFC Soccer School have combined resources to be best positioned to enhance provision of a varied program of football activities that provides fun learning and development opportunities for players of all levels of ability and experience. To date, this has led to the introduction of some fantastic initiatives and events including the community focused Football for a Fiver scheme, the exciting Dutch Masters tournaments, Guernsey FA ‘Giveaway’ and various tournament weeks including the 2016 Euro Championships tournament and 2018 WolrdChamps tournament.

The new sponsorship agreement with Spirit has secured the future of the overall Soccer School delivery programme, which also includes the year round core delivery of the after-school coaching courses that have been, and remain, so popular and successful in terms of introducing young children to the sport in a positive environment with highly qualified and experienced professional coaches. This point was emphasised by Gary Roberts, Chief Executive of the Guernsey Football Association when commenting that:

‘The partnership between the Guernsey FC Soccer School and Guernsey Football Association is one which has proven to be a great success over the last three years. The number of children consistently registering for the various opportunities provided through this partnership has exceeded our expectations, which is testament to what is being provided by the highly skilled and respected coaches delivering these opportunities. It also illustrates that football remains the most popular sport amongst young children, and alongside the GFA’s other community delivery programmes we are looking forward to another exciting year with the Soccer School in partnership with Spirit.

This new agreement with Spirit is great news as it ensures that the wide ranging Soccer School programme will continue to be available for the hundreds of children that attend the various sessions delivered throughout the year. The GFA greatly appreciates the support being provided by Spirit and looks forward to continuing to work with Guernsey FC Soccer School to provide these opportunities for the local community’.

Guernsey FC Soccer School Director, Tony Vance added that:

‘I am personally delighted that we will be receiving the support of Spirit and that the role of the Soccer School in supporting player development has been recognised in this way by a new partner. The Soccer School has always focused on providing young children with the opportunity to learn the game in a safe and fun environment and as a result has received great feedback from children and parents for the technical development and understanding the sessions provide.  With the new support of Spirit, I am sure the Soccer School coaches will continue to support the development of many young and enthusiastic footballers throughout the upcoming year’.
