Guernsey Soccer School Summer Programme 2018
The Guernsey FA, in partnership with Guernsey FC Soccer School, is pleased to confirm the 2018 Summer Soccer School programme.
The Summer holidays start with the ever popular Nike Giveaway Week from 23rd – 27th July, which will be followed in the next week by the first of the Football for a Fiver weeks. This community engagement programme, which is popular for all ages and levels of ability, and has been a consistent offer within the Soccer School delivery programme, with close to 5000 daily registrations since the start of the partnership between Guernsey FA and Guernsey FC Soccer School. The second Football for a Fiver week is available from 20th – 24th August, and the Summer programme will conclude with the Soccer School Summer Tournament from 28th – 31st August.
The partnership between Guernsey FA and Guernsey FC Soccer School continues to provide a significant number of children with the opportunity to develop new and existing football skills in a positive and fun learning environment with sessions being delivered by highly qualified and experienced coaches, including Tony Vance, Colin Fallaize, Angus Mackay and Joelle Pengelley.
Guernsey FA Chief Executive Officer, Gary Roberts, commented that
‘This Summer programme extends our commitment to deliver community engagement opportunities that ensure football remains accessible for all of the community, particularly with two weeks of our flagship Football for a Fiver programme. The partnership between the GFA and the GFC Soccer School has proven to be hugely successful, which is shown through the continued high participation numbers and we are pleased to be able to continue offering exciting opportunities for all of the community. It is important to highlight that, unlike other soccer school programmes, all of the revenue generated through the Guernsey Soccer School remains on-island and is reinvested back into local football through various activities and initiatives. It is for this reason that we appreciate the continued support shown to the Soccer School by the local community.’
