Following on from the success of the first holiday courses of 2017, when an average of 120 children per day enjoy a fun filled week of coaching during February half-term, Guernsey FA and Guernsey FC Soccer School are pleased to announce details of the next holiday courses during the Easter period.
Football for a Fiver
Once again the ever popular Football for a Fiver community program, which continues to be generously supported by Male Uprising Guernsey (MUG) and Louvre Group, will be delivered during the week commencing Monday 10th April. The support of MUG and Louvre Group continues to enable Guernsey FA and Guernsey FC Soccer School to provide a significant number of children with the opportunity to develop new and existing football skills in a positive and fun learning environment with the daily sessions being delivered by highly qualified and experienced coaches, including Tony Vance, Colin Fallaize, Angus Mackay and Joelle Pengelley.
Guernsey FA Chief Executive, Gary Roberts commented that
‘This program is instrumental in helping us to deliver community engagement opportunities that ensure football remains accessible for all of the community. The continued growth in participation numbers is testament to what is being delivered through this hugely popular program and the Guernsey FA and Guernsey FC Soccer School are delighted that this initiative remains such a great success from the perspective of achieving the program aim of providing opportunities for all of the community. The next course at Easter promises to provide more of the same and will again see children, with a wide range of football ability, having fun, learning new skills, being active and developing in a safe environment.’
Starting on Tuesday 18th April, focus will change to Guernsey FC Soccer School’s innovative Easter Tournament format. During 2016, the partnership between Guernsey FC Soccer School and Guernsey FA delivered some unique tournament based events including the Euro’s Tournament and also the Dutch Masters Tournament and more of the same can be expected of the Easter Tournament.
Guernsey FC Soccer School founder and Director, Tony Vance, commented that;
‘We were delighted about how well received the tournament formats proved to be last year, and with having such a great attendance, it proves that how much the children simply enjoy playing the game, irrespective of the format. Whilst the Football for a Fiver program remains the flagship element of the partnership with Guernsey FA, these unique and innovative tournaments provide a different and exciting experience for so many local children.’
