Volunteers are the backbone of grassroots football throughout Guernsey and perform invaluable roles such as that of a coach. Coaches are required for all age groups including mini’s, juniors, youth and senior football. Without the time, dedication and commitment that the many volunteers freely demonstrate on a regular basis the number of opportunities to participate would be greatly diminished. Guernsey FA rightly recognises and appreciates that clubs and league require more than just the players on the pitch each week. Invaluable work is performed by Coaches to ensure a wealth of participation opportunities exist for all ages in Guernsey

It is our aim that the Football Development team shall:

  • Support and develop existing volunteer Coaches  with training and guidance
  • Recruit more volunteer Coaches into football
  • Recognise and reward Coaches

Many of our clubs would be delighted to hear from anyone who would like to become a Coach so that they can continue to operate and develop. A well-run club/league requires a number of Coaches to be in a position to offer opportunities to all age groups.

There are many benefits to getting involved in football as a volunteer Coach including:

  • learning new skills
  • helping others
  • giving something back to the sport
  • becoming part of a team
  • meeting new people
  • a new challenge
If you are interested in getting involved in the sport as a Coach and would like some advice about finding a Club or require information about training opportunities please contact the Football Development Team on 01481 200443
