GIRLS SCHOOL FOOTBALL

League Underway

The Guernsey Football Association is delighted to confirm that the first ever Schools leagues for girls have started.

The Association is extremely grateful to all teachers for their support of the project but particularly Caroline Matthews at St Sampsons who has not only been a real driving force behind the scenes but also agreed to host all the fixtures.

Leagues have started at both U14 (years 8 and 9) and U16 (years 10 AND 11) age groups with six and three schools participating respectively.All games are currently played on a 7v7 format on the St Sampsons astro pitch.

There has been two weeks of action in the U14 group and currently La Mare De Carteret, spearheaded by the strike duo of Keeleigh Le Tissier and Deanna Falla, head the table.

In the first game at U16 level ,Les Beaucamps led by Amber Gallienne defeated La Mare 5-2 for whom Steph Batiste scored both goals.
