Unveiled as Senior Island Coach

The Guernsey Football Association (GFA) is delighted to announce the appointment of Tony Vance as Senior Island Coach. Tony has worked with Steve Ogier as Assistant Coach for the last five years prior to Steve’s resignation last month.

Guernsey Football Association Chairman Mark Le Tissier said:

“The Board was unanimous in its decision to appoint Tony and will be working with him to provide a meaningful programme for the Island’s best players in the future.

‘Tony has a wealth of representative experience, having been capped many times by his island as a player. He will bring the coaching experience he has gained at club, youth representative and senior representative level to the role.

‘I am personally pleased that Tony applied for the position as I have been a longtime admirer of his and I am sure the players who have already worked with Tony at representative level will be pleased to see this continuity.’

Vance’s first tasks will be to put his own coaching team together and to select a squad for the Natwest Island Games in Aland next summer. "
