Guernsey FA - developing football for everyone
Development - take your skills to the next level

GFA Coaches Association (GFACA)

The GFA Coaches Association will meet regularly during the year and will will have high profile and well respected speakers with an emphasis on practical demonstrations as well as theory.

Launched in November 2008, the Association will have it's first event on 28th February which will be a demonstration of Futebol de Salao, a 5-a-side version of football of South American origin that is played with a smaller (size 2 ), heavier (465g) ball that has virtually no bounce (10%).

MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS

The GFACA continues to promote coach development on Guernsey. Membership of the GFACA delivers the following benefits:

1.  We meet four times a year at organised practical coaching demonstrations. These are led by a variety of professional coaches, to demonstrate a variety of sessions, ie from sessions for coaching young children, to sessions for coaching youth and senior players, to sessions for helping coaches progressing through the qualifications, to sessions bringing the latest on coaching from the FA.

Membership to the GFACA therefore delivers the opportunity for you to further your knowledge and learn new/different drills, games, sessions and coaching methods that you can take away and use or adapt in your own coaching environment.

2.  These demonstrations will obviously also provide support to a coaches personal development, including coaches who are progressing through the levels of coaching qualifications.

3. We will work in partnership with other County Football Associations which brings mutual benefits.

We have members at all coaching levels, from Level 1 to 3 and we believe the GFACA offers a valuable service to new and existing coaches on Guernsey.
